Dear parents, this year, we’ve had difficulty recruiting enough volunteers to host drop-in hours this year. However, we are still matching students with volunteer tutors on an individual basis. If you need a volunteer tutor, please submit your request and we will do our very best to find a wonderful volunteer to work with your child.

Mastery-based Learning

How it Works

  1. Students join the zoom meeting and are matched with a tutor immediately.

  2. Students can ask questions about homework, walk through some lesson concepts, or play some fun learning games with the tutor.

    *Feedback is always welcome!
Students or parents can fill a form after the session to let us know their thoughts, suggestions, or concerns.

Why Mastery Learning is Better

Students will:

  • Learn at their ideal pace

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of each concept

  • Learn to retain and apply information

  • Build confidence in their skills

  • Cultivate a lifelong love of learning

Educational psychologist Benjamin Bloom found that the average
student tutored using mastery learning techniques performed

98% better

than their peers who learned through conventional methods.
